James “Jimmy” Johnstone
On Tuesday we woke up to the devastating news of the loss of our coach, mentor and friend Jimmy. Our hearts are broken.
Jimmy was a giant of the UK BJJ community and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His list of accolades speak for themselves. He did so much for so many and always had time to share advice, techniques and knowledge.
We’ll miss you Jimmy - we hope our nasty rounds last night did you proud. Your BJJ lives on through everyone who trained with you, had their guard smashed, neck and face knelt on, ribs elbowed, throats crushed with a fist, a chin in the eye socket and their wrists locked.
And to anyone and everyone struggling, teammates or not, we’re here for you - it’s ok to talk.
