Merry Xmas y’all!

2024 has been such a mixed year for the academy - with the highs and lows, and then highs again mimicking most people’s martial arts journeys.

We’ve introduced some awesome new classes and coaches - with more lined up to start soon. We’ve rebranded, renovated and put in some lovely new mats upstairs and bags downstairs. We got ourselves a new website and super shiny new app. We became REORG approved and continued our UKBJJA membership. And we’ve welcomed lots of new members and visitors.

We had the unexpected and heartbreaking loss of our coach, mentor and friend Jimmy. A guy who had such an impact on so many people, near and far, and who’s style and techniques will forever be ingrained in many of our BJJ games.

The academy affiliated under the legendary Mauricio Gomes - joining a team with the same goals and approaches, full of support, guidance and a wealth of experience to help keep us progressing and moving forward the way we have been the last few years.

We’ve had lots of people experience individual success, stepping on to the competition mats and in to rings - both as debutants and more experienced competitors. We’ve had lots of kids gain confidence and discover a new hobby and passion. And we’ve had so many well deserved promotions for both the kids and the adults.

We can’t wait to see what 2025 holds!
